Jakki Taylor Richardson was born in Montclair, NJ. In her high school yearbook, she wrote under her picture “Watch out Barbara Walters here I come!” Almost a decade later she was up close and personal with the woman herself.
After graduating with a B.A. in broadcast journalism from Howard University in Washington, DC, Jakki moved back home and began her television career in TV’s #1 market — NYC. She started at PBS’s political issues show, “Informed Sources” then went on to several news outlets before finally landing at ABC’s “The View.” She was one of the original producers at “The View” where she stayed for the first 7 years and won a Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Talk Show.” Then Oprah called and Jakki was off to Chicago to work on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” She stayed at “Oprah” until the last show and describes her experience there as “EXTRAordinary!” In 2013, she relocated to Los Angeles to work on “The Queen Latifah Show” where she was a human interest producer and enjoyed “making viewers dreams come true.”
Jakki lives her life based on the scripture “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me!” She is a wife and mother of 2 wonderful boys, Hebrew and Nicholas.
