Project Connect Conference

For the first time ever, Get HOPE Global invited Program Leaders from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe to participate in a conference for the purpose of building new and deeper connections, worshiping and praying together, and learning from each other.

Our conference was all about Connection: Connection with God, Connection with Others, Connection with Ourselves.

It was an honor to watch as leaders from so many different countries built intentional community with one another. Tea and meal times became a fantastic place for new friendships to be built. Laughter could be heard throughout the halls throughout the conference, signaling the joy of reuniting with old friends and new connections being made. Mornings spent in worship and prayer together grew into beautiful moments of deepening relationships with God.

In the conversations, the prayers, and the times of quiet resting in God’s presence, the theme of connection echoed all week long. We look forward to seeing how all the connections made during the conference continue grow and change over time.

A primary goal for the conference was to create space to grow deeper in relationship with God. The morning sessions started with a designated country leading a time of worship and prayer. The most striking thing about these times was witnessing leaders from so many different countries and backgrounds worshiping God together. This was such a sweet taste of what the Kingdom of God is like: every tribe and tongue and nation worshiping together. Through all of the life stories shared it was so clear that these leaders not only worship through song but throughout their daily lives.

Another central goal of this conference was to facilitate an environment to learn from each other. Many of our leaders led sessions and discussions throughout the three days about success stories as well as challenges along the way. There were amazing moments of depth and encouragement as leaders shared their personal stories. We hope that this aspect of the conference will continue: that they will keep the connections they have established and continue to learn from one another, even as they are in their own context again.

We are so grateful for our leaders, our travel team, our partners and all of you who helped to turn Project Connect from our “Big Hope” into a beautiful reality.
